HEALTH AND SAFETY STATEMENT OF INTENT

This document sets out the Health and Safety Statement of Intent for SIGMA Electrical Installations Ltd.

The purpose of this document is to demonstrate commitment by the owners of the company to comply with the requirements of the legal & moral obligations imposed upon it to protect the Health, Safety & Well-being of all persons employed by or impacted upon by the operations of the business.

The company will encourage ownership, commitment and adherence throughout its business.

This document will provide a method for establishing and reviewing the Health and Safety objectives of the business.

The company recognises that effective Health & Safety management is based on a clear understanding that no harm will be inflicted on anyone during the operation of the business.

The development of a positive Heath & Safety culture within the company is essential to the success of this philosophy.

Therefore, as an integral part of its business; SIGMA Electrical Installations Ltd will:

  • Adhere to EU directives & regulations and promote best practice by developing and implementing company strategies, policies and processes that enable us to manage its responsibilities.

  • Consult with employees, visitors, suppliers, customers and members of the public, the general environment and those others who may be affected by its activities.

  • Comply with any statutory and common law duty to provide insurance against liability for death, injury or disease suffered by any employee arising out of and in the course of employment.

  • Start each day with an interactive Health & Safety 'Tool-Box-Talk'.

  • Ensure that employees & contract workers agree as part of their contract of engagement, to comply with their individual duties under the law. Failure to comply with Health and Safety duties, regulations, local procedures etc. will be regarded as a serious breach and may lead to disciplinary action being taken.

  • In accordance with the Reporting of Diseases Dangerous Occurrence Regulations (RIDDOR) 2013; implement a system for the recording and reporting notifiable incidents. This is in addition the statutory duty to provide an accident book.

  • Have a policy of continuous improvement in the performance of the health and safety management system.
  • Review the health and safety policy annually or at the time of any significant change.
